AT LONG LAST!!>>>Started Stenciling!!

Well, I finally got back in the notion of stenciling the bedroom lastnight while the rest of the family watched Too Fast & Too Furious for the umpteenth time!!
Yes,"umpteenth" is an official number in the South!!
It's more than two and less than twenty....I think!???
Anyhow, how do you think it's looking??
(click on the top photo and you can see it better)

Did ya see that big ol' spinning wheel?
Still don't know really to put that thing....but that's were it has landed for now!!
Thank you for looking!
I must get back to work....lots of exciting things are happening and I believe God is fixing to open even more doors for us!!
I praise God for His goodness!!

The Wheel Goes Round In Circles.....

Well....as you can tell by the pictures....I was blessed to be able to get the spinning wheel today!!
Also, the young couple was very gracious to negotiate with us on a lesser price...I was very pleased with what we gave for it... :)
Mr.Backwoods and I drove to look at it this afternoon after standing out in the cold temps cooking for a fundraiser this morning til after 1:00....
I was so glad to finally get to go check it out!!
Let me tell you this spinning wheel is a "Hoss" !!
It is really big for our lil' home....but I sure do like it!!
It looks to be complete...the only thing I really noticed is that "carter key" pin holding the wheel in place....however,that does not bother me....it has a crack in the wheel....but for as old as we feel it could be....it looks really good!
Our son was quite impressed with it too...he said "will this piece to me"...I told him it was like owning a neat piece of history in some small way....
One of my friends told me to check to see if the wood had "worm holes" in it before I bought it...to kind of indicate it was truly older....imagine my joy when I bent over for a closer look and sure enough....lots of little wormyholes all in the spindles of the big ol' wheel! Yeeeeessss!!
It has teeny tiny funny shaped nails all around the wheel...they too look original...there are dark places in the wood around each nail...
Have to tell a little "funny"....notice in yesterday's post that the piece coming up from the base is leaning toward the wheel....during my 3:00am awakening....
I studied a few pictures a bit closer and discovered that it didn't look just "right".....so when we got there I just had to see for myself....so,yup...sure enough...I took my hand and gently went to see if it would turn around...pretty as you please..it did!!
Now,this is the funny part....while I was doing this...a cute little four year old set of eyes were closely watching me....then when I had pulled my hand away....without saying a single word, she took her little hand and turned it right back the way it was to begin with!!
I had to chuckle to myself...she knew it wasn't that way when we came...tee hee...her moma was quick to correct her for doing that...I thought what she did was quite funny!

Thank you for all of you that left me comments, advice and information links....
that really did help me!! Helpful Teri a "Following Friend" to our Backwoods Country Primitives Blog...left this informative link for me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinning_wheel#Hand-powered_wheels
I learned at 3:00 am this morning (couldn't sleep)that it is called a "Walking Wheel" or a "Great Wheel" type spinning wheel...these kind do not have a foot peddle...the spinning is done by hand while standing...(I did not know that)....
Our son thinks it looks 1800-ish...I wished I knew more about how to date it??
The Wikepedia article stated that this type was an early type wheel..... :)??

So...where am I going to put it you say??
LOL!! Good question!....I'm working on it!!
Mr. Backwoods helped get it set back up in the house and it looks MASSIVE!!
LOL!
Dear son said it "is darn near as long as the harvest table in our dining area"...he's about right!(that table is 6ft. long)!!LOL!
Maybe...I'll just set it on top of the table! Ha!
Nope...don't think so!
I will either put it in our room and make the pie safe work somewhere else...or put it in front of the two living room windows and have to move a couple pieces....yup...O-U-T.....OUT....for good!
So prim pals...what do ya think of the spinning wheel???

Thanks for stopping by!
Tune in again soon to see where I have put it....you may see it suspended from the ceiling before it's over with!

My New Header AND A Question?

How do you all like my new header?
I was just playing around with a few new decor things that I had picked up at a flea mkt.and some new "prim" things that had arrived at our shop....
The flat basket is FOR SALE for $39.00 plus shipping and the greenery piece in the pitcher is FOR SALE too they are $7.95 each...they are really beautiful!!
I'll be posting those things and more wonderful greenery and *NEW* prim smalls on our Selling Blog soon very soon!

Now, For my question....How do you get your background to be something different than the solid blogger colors?
Can you scan some fabric or wallpaper and put it in behind your posts?
How do you do that???

Thanks alot!!!
Oh, thank you to the few that left ideas about the furniture....please, there's still time to get your ideas in....we'd appreciate the input!

Have a great week primmies!
