Amish Grace

Watched this movie on LMN lastnight with my family....
wondering how many watched it too?
It was very heart-wrenching to watch....but very moving!
Forgiveness is not so much for the one that comitted the
"wrong" as it is a healer to the one that has been "wronged"...

My husband, daughter and I watched this show too. I cried several times throughout it. I don't know how true this show was to the Amish but to be as forgiving as the show portrayed would be so hard. We would be happier people if we could though. Definitely a show to make you think.

I watched part of it...wish I had seen it all. Wasn't what I thought it was gonna be. It was comforting to me and it make me think about things in a different light.
Maybe, it will be on again....

I watched the movie and it brought back the memory of those days. I live a few hours north and I think the movie portrayed the events fairly accurately.

Forgiveness is so hard, but true that we forgive not for the sake of the other person but for the sake of ourselves.

Forgiveness doesn't mean that we excuse the sin. The problem I think is that we aren't able to separate the person and the sin of the person.

Through Jesus Christ we are able to love and forgive the sinner and yet hate the sin that was done.

I DVRed the movie and just finished watching it. Made me cry several times. It really made me think about my own heart and how hard it is for me to forgive. I know too well how the bitterness that goes along with anger can hurt. Something I will be working on from now on.

I watched it too!! I DVR'd it, because I wasn't sure I could watch it, but my daughter & I ended up watching it while it was on. We always go to that area in October, and I remember so well, the sadness and sorrow when we visited that year. Just a heart breaking incident.

I would like to think I could be so forgiving (as the movie portrayed), but I don't know.

Watched it as well. About a year after the shooting, we visited the site and said a prayer.
We travel from Virginia to Amish country often each year.
Good movie and seem pretty accurate. Their prayer bonnets were alittle different in Pa. Like they expressed in the movie, forgivness is something we all need.
