Wow! What a whirlwind of activity it is around here!!!
We've had alot on our minds lately.....
DH and I have been praying and praying about a new business venture the last several weeks....
We are about to become food/concession vendors!
We really feel that the Lord is opening the doors for us to do this and it seems as if another is closing on his diesel mechanic work.....he's ready for a change....he's done some type of mechanic work for more than 25 years and he's 43 years old!
Tomorrow we go to a pretty big event with both of our set-ups....I'll be doing our hand-made stuff from the shop...primarily.......and then he will be setting up to cook for the day.....
It has rained here nearly everyday this week......I pray that it holds off all around us tomorrow so everyone can have a profitable day with their set-ups.....
That would be such a blessing!
One day last week or so, while I was gone with DD and our church's youth to a Christian concert.....DH went to talk to a guy about the concession business that he was in......
Well, DH just went to learn a little more about how things worked and what you'd have to get started....you know, just small talk.....well, the guy ended up asking DH if he wanted to buy his trailer and set-up just out of the blue!!!
He said that he wanted to buy a restaurant or a larger trailer than what he'd priced DH!!!
So that's what we've been praying about so much.....it's an investment for sure....
Maybe not so big to some....but it would be to us....
Our kid's are just so excited for us to do this and be involved in helping us run it!!
How great is that?!! That your teen-age kid's desire to be with you and work with you as a family!!!
I praise the Lord for that!!!
Anyhooo......DH, DD & I went to look at the concession trailer on Monday while DS was at work....it's very clean and nice....
We were about to leave when my cell phone rang.....it was a new neighbor lady on our road.....hold on for this.....it is so wonderful how the Lord works!!!
I just met her a few weeks ago.........when her teen son had asked permission from us and his mom to walk to our house to visit with DD and her friend for a bit.....well.... the young man didn't stay very long because it was looking like it was going to rain....so he proceeded to head home on foot........
It started to rain shortly after that........ so I had asked DD to text him to see how far he'd made it.....well he called her back and said he'd made it to the end of our lengthy drive and would it be too much to ask if DH or I would run him home?
So, I said that I would....told the girls to hop in the backseat and he could ride up-front.....
Well....took him home (then the rain stopped) and his mom came out to thank us for giving him a ride and I just started chatting with her( yes, I'm a chatterbox at times) and invited her to my Spring Open House at the shop....well she invited me in the house to see an old table she'd found in the basement of their house....and we chatted some more! LOL!
Well....she came to the open house and talked with DH and I both....
Anyhow....moving on.... remember I said she called while we were looking at the trailer???
She asked me if I thought DH and I would be interested in cooking for a Christian "oudoorsman type" family event in July(three days!!!) for.....get this.....300 to possibly 500 people!!!!!!!
I just about squealed outloud!!! I actually did throw my hands in the air and did a "happy dance"
after hanging up with her!! LOL!!
DH was on one side of the trailer with DD and the owner and I was out in the edge of the guy's yard on the other side of the trailer.....DH and DD got a glimpse of my "moment" and were trying to keep a straight face while still talking to this guy! LOL!!
They had no clue as to what I was doing or what the call was even about!! :)
So now the lady that called and her DH want us to submit a menu/proposal of what it would cost per plate.....for...... get this....at least two breakfasts, a lunch and a supper!!!
That does not include snacks, extra drinks and possibly another lunch!!!!
And......it's at a lake/campground area about 10 minutes from our home!!!
Oh my goodness! Ain't God so good!!!???
Our son said....well how much more convinced do you have to be to go into this business?
You've got calls wanting you to cook BEFORE you even have a trailer!!!
We have the set-up this Saturday and one the 23rd of May at another event......then some lady called from a nearby town and asked if we'd like to set-up at their event and cook and DH said he did not know who she was or that he'd even spoke to her before!!!
I tell ya....we are just so consumed with what to do and when to do it.....we don't know what to do first!! LOL!!!
I'd appreciate it so much if y'all would pray for us to make the right decisions and to have the oppourtunity to do that big job I was telling you all about....we'll have to pray and wait and see!!
They have to present it before the board TONIGHT at their meeting and vote on it......
It's whatever the Lord wants for us.....we are just so excited about that prospect and hope it's one we'll get to do!
I've got so much to do to get ready for tomorrow.....so I'll say bye for now.....
The pics in this post are of my shop.....we got a bunch of stuff cleaned up from behind it this week and are now ready for our friend to get started on the addition to the back....we're going out almost as much as what we have in the downstairs area now......yippeee!!!
I think he will be starting on it in a few more days!!
Didn't I tell ya it's been a whirlwind of activity around here???!!
Then add in.....church, softball & archery practices and a National Archery Tournament on top of that.....just to name a few!!!
Thank you blog friends for being so kind and for praying for me.....Your'e the best!
I am truly doing better with my stomache and swallowing issues....Praise God!!!!!! :)
Please keep praying for me that I will not have to go for that scope at the end of May.....
I re-scheduled cause we just had too much to do and I truly believe the Lord is going to take care of it for me!
Also....with this new business venture we're looking at right now....
Whew! It's so much to take in!!
He's so good!
Have a blessed day all!

Hi BWP,
God is good. When one door closes He opens another. My hubby was a diesel mechanic for many years too and gave it up after we built our first home. Then he started building homes with a credit cards(actually a combination of cards) and as each one sold we paid the cards off and built again with more cash in hand. Then we started selling our own homes(seven houses in all) each time building a nicer home for ourselves. Then of course God blessed us with the most incredible housing market for 10 years. Thankfully my husband was smart enough to invest and now we are living very comfortably in a lovely home. I'll say it again, God is good! May God richly bless you and your husband as you begin this new journey. I believe that this is exactly where God wants you to be! Hugs, Loretta
Congratulations to you an your family! What a blessing to be doing something that the whole family can be a part of!
