I've been super busy since we came home from our trip...........
DD and I worked for over two days getting the shop all back in order after hauling furniture and prim stuff to last weekend's show and some of it back again....
We got it all back into shape and decorated for our "Springtime in the Backwoods" Open House
in a little over a week.....this will be our first spring show event.....
We've done three "Christmas" Open House's but never a spring one....
I'll have loads of pics to show you after the open house.....yep, I'm makin' ya wait!
We did a Potting shed theme on the shop's porch.....it turned out really cute....but I still need to do a little more "tweaking" before the big event.....
Today I kind of "played" for a change......it was fun and relaxing....
Crafting is such good therapy! LOL!!
DD helped me paint some paper mache eggs that I've had tucked away for at least 2 years!!
Then the ideas began to roll......these are just painted a solid " old Ball mason jar aqua" color I hand mixed for a couple cannery cabinets DH and I did.....the picture "color" is a little off...but it's close.....I think I'm going to stain over a few to tone the color down and then I thought I'd "flick"
that is a technical term by the way.....dark brown paint specks on a few others.....
We saved a few to do in a "buttermilk" beige color w/ the dark brown speckles on them.......
We didn't get those done though......
I just goofed around with the one's we painted and this is what I came up with........
The incredible inedible egg (paper mache')........ :)

ABOVE: I bought this chick feeder at a farm store and it has been setting around (outside) waiting for me to do something with it.....
It was way too shiny for my Prim liking.....so DH did a technique that caused it to dull the finish and then we just left it outside practically all winter to do whatever it would.....
It has a f ew rusty spots on it now.....which I like.....and the patina is great!
I added some "grass", a few brown beeswax battery tealights a couple resin "chocolate" bunnies (I've also had for three years!) and then topped the little ensamble with three of our "old aqua"
eggs.....I'm so all about that color lately!
Wait til you see the pictures I've taken of what DD and I did to the LR/DR before and after our trip! I tell ya we've been really busy gals!!! More about those pics on another post!!
Tee hee......if Lisa from "Primitives From Above" can keep ya in suspense......then so can I!! :)

ABOVE: This isn't the best picture........but we put the larger size eggs in a "nest" of Spanish moss in the repro dough bowl on the sofa table behind our sectional.......
Notice that "old mason jar aqua" color in the apothecary drawers and the box underneath.....
I betcha you all already picked up on that didn't ya?!!
Oh, y'all are just too clever!!! :)
ABOVE: This is on our kitchen table.....do you all remember waaaaaaaay back in one of my earlier posts I had these red and blue ceramic grubby candles with a place in the top for a tea-light that I had purchased at GW for about $4.00 for a big three light one and the two smaller ones? Well, in the center of the bowl is one of the smaller ones!
I took advice from several of you blog pals.....Carolyn....Char....and I believe there were others....if it included anyone else......I'd be glad to give you credit.....so let me know....o.k?
Thanks gals!
First, I spray painted them a flat chocolate brown......then I Mod -Podged them all over and mixed up instant coffee, cinnamon, cloves and ginger and patted it all over each one....
I REALLY, REALLY like how they turned out!!!
I wished I had more of them to do up for the shop.....cause I'm a keepin these!!! :)
Poo....I had one more picture to show you and I accidently hit something on this keyboard that
Poo....I had one more picture to show you and I accidently hit something on this keyboard that
caused it to be deleted....ugggghhhhh! That is so aggravating!
Anyhow......what do you all think? :)
Thanks for stopping by and as always for your kind comments.......
I really do enjoy reading what you have to say....everyone of you has been so nice and thoughtful

Great post today and I'm so loving the aqua too! The eggs you did are fantastic all of them look just wonderful! The one's I bought at The Rusty Angel I'm keeping out after Easter is over:)
I'll be checking back to see the "new" pics of your home.

Love love love the eggs with the tealights in the chick feeder! Oh my, if I ever find an old feeder I may have to steal your idea. You are amazing!
Everything looks great! I love that color too, but not sure if I can add it to my hoouse. It may not go too well with my earthy tones, although I have some "dirty blue" in areas too. LOL! Seems like lots of folks are really liking that color these days.
A couple of years ago, I found the most awesome old prim hutch/cabinet in a very similar color and it was so bright! And it was the original paint! I wanted it so bad, but it was way more than we could afford (just under $3000.00). And I knew if I got it, I would have to re-do my entire home! LOL!
The candles look great! See, I told you so!
Have a great week!
